In the frame of preparations for ENYA project, Dejan Tatic, youth advisor from Doboj, has organized Round Table on Education. This is one of the themes that are offered on European Internet Forum that will be closed on July 15th, and whose goal is to make children opinions heard and respected in field of work of Ombudsman for Children. By organizing this Round Table, Dejan has collected opinions and positions of his friends on all questions regarding education.

In order to give the best presentation of the role of Ombudsman for Children of Republic of Srpska and in Europe at whole, for introduction Dejan had Nada Grahovac, Ombudsman for Children speaks to children. She spoke of competences of Ombudsman and necessity of cooperation between children and Ombudsman because children are the best ones to talk about their problems, opinions, positions, dilemmas, etc.

Also, presented were current activities of ENYA project and activities of children on national forum that follows the ENYA forum.

Dejan Tatic has invited children who are members of Student Councils and he offered them different subjects to discuss:

-respecting children opinions in the school

-equal opportunities in education

-assistance and protection in the school

-student-teacher relation

-conditions in school premises.

Children were really interested and they have stated examples from their surroundings. It is obvious that they have very mature opinions, objections to observed imperfection were grounded and conclusions were well justified and also they were the product of ongoing discussions. Young people have shown interest to actively participate in the community where they live and work but for such engagement they need assistance of adults and institutions that have to act jointly in order to get quality solution.

Ombudsman for Children greets and supports such activities of children because their opinions are the real source of information and they oblige us to further consider and act upon them.
