November 19. is marked as International Day on Prevention of Child Abuse and aims to raise awareness about harmful effects of every form of violence against children and the need to prevent this, because every violence offends and humiliates, threatens child's dignity and leaves serious, and very often lasting effects on development of and growing up of a child.

Although the child's right to protection from violence is guaranteed by all international documents and domestic regulations, the reality for many children, unfortunately, is very different.

Complaints received at the Institution, which indicate violations of the rights of the child, show that many children are still out of the necessary care, primarily because of the relation to the problem of violence and its lack of recognition, because of inadequate response in situations
