On the eve of celebrating Children's Week, the Ombudsman for Children in cooperation with the the Government of Republic of Srpska Gender Centre held a seminar for Young Advisors "The right to protection from violence and discrimination" which is a part of the project "Preparation for certification of peer educators on the rights of the child for Young Advisors of the Ombudsman for Children of Republic of Srpska" and was financed from funds from FIGAP program.

Training seminar brought together 25 high school students from 15 municipalities of Republic of Srpska who spent two days learning, exchanging views, experiences and ideas, as well as in beautiful friendship through which high school students acquired new and strengthened the old friendships.

During the training seminar aimed at educating children on the right to protection from violence, workshop was organized in which the children were familiarized with the regulations governing this area, and representatives of the Gender Centre held the workshops on recognizing violence and discrimination based on gender. As the project aims to train Young Advisors in skills that each peer educator must have, a workshop on what every educator needs to know when making workshops for their peers was held.

Central workshop "Do we know what violence is" was led by Dr. Ivana Zečević, who by using interactive methods encouraged Young Advisors to say what they know about violence and gain new knowledge about the recognition, prevention and protection from violence. Young Advisors noted that it is particularly important to them to acquire the knowledge from experts who are willing to give them the knowledge in a manner that is adjusted to them.

The training seminar was also an opportunity for Young Advisors to present their participation in numerous activities where they had the opportunity to expand their knowledge but also to pass to others experiences and knowledge that they have gained in the Network of Young Advisors. These presentations helped them in making of the presentation that will introduce Young Advisors on the central manifestation of the "Children's Week".
