A roundtable was held today in Banja Luka titled "Improving multidisciplinary approach in combating gender-based violence".
In organization of "United Women" Banja Luka, representatives of governmental and non-governmental sectors presented their experiences and problems in working with victims and witnesses of violence.
The roundtable was attended by the Ombudsman for Children, Nada Grahovac, who introduced attendees to the importance of multidisciplinary approach and the need for adoption of the Protocol on the procedure in all cases of violence, abuse and neglect.
The Protocol, exactly, needs to ensure multi-disciplinary approach and make accountable all institutions and services for undertaking measures within their authority to protect the child.
Examples from practice, unfortunately, show that, very often, there is lack of adequate response of the competent in protection of the child.
Not recognizing violence as a serious threat to children's healthy growing up is again violence against children.
