The Ombudsman for Children Nada Grahovac LLM spoke about the results of the research in Republic of Srpska who stressed the need to change the Criminal Code, lack of preventive programs and unique database for the offences of sexual violence against children.
The joint assessment is that these offenses are the most severe forms of violence against children because they leave severe and lasting consequences on development and growth of a child. It is therefore necessary, in addition to prevention programs and defined measures of psychosocial assistance to children victims, to also establish a base-register of the perpetrators of these most severe offences.
