The Association of the psychologists of the Republic of Srpska and Republic pedagogic institute organized the seminar „Role of the school in upbringing: challenges of the profession related to the peer violence". The seminar was held on 15 and 16 April 2016 in the Faculty of Philosophy in Banjaluka. The target group for this seminar were teachers, expert associates in schools, coordinators for prevention of violence in the primary and secondary schools in the RS and was attended by 126 participants.  

The topics presented during the two days were: how to identify the problem of peer violence, when and how to react, what is the best interest of the child, what are the opportunities and restriction in cooperation between the schools and parents in the cases of the peer violence, frequency of the peer violence and application of the Protocol.

Ms Nada Grahovac, Ombudsman for Children, shared the experiences of the Institution who, acted upon appeals that related to the peer violence, violence in general, abuse and neglect of the children indicates the need of systematic solutions and strengthening of the accountability of all relevant stakeholders in the system of the protection. Ms Grahovac especially underlined importance of the cooperation between parents and schools.
