Host of Central manifestation marking the International Day of the Rights of the Child this year was ES "Georgi Stojkov Rakovski" in Banja Luka. According to current practice, Central manifestation is held in a school which, according to data of the Republic Pedagogic Institute in the previous year, achieved the best results in learning and behavior.

Many guests, students, parents and teachers were welcomed by the school principal, Dušan Mišljenović, and the attendees were also addressed by the Ombudsman for Children of Republic of Srpska, Nada Grahovac LLM, who have once again highlighted the importance of the Convention and understanding that the rights of the child are nothing else but their needs and that the obligation of adults is to teach children not only their rights but also obligations and responsibilities.

Students of this school together with their teachers have prepared a rich program under the name "Let the world be a child". The program has brought together a large number of students who, through recitation, song, drama and dance, showed how they see and understand their rights.

Elementary and high school students from all over the Republic this year wrote and drew on the topic "I grow and learn in peace and freedom" and today the best were awarded prizes. Competition was, this year as well, announced by the Ministry of Education and Culture in cooperation with the Republic Pedagogic Institute and the Ombudsman for Children and awards to students were provided by the Public Fund for Child Protection, Ministry of Education and Culture and Ministry of Family, Youth and Sports.
