Within the project "Protection of children from violence in Southeastern Europe" the organization UNICEF held presentation in Sarajevo of the draft report on a conducted thematic study on the ability of service providers to effectively identify and report cases of violence against children.

The meeting was attended by head of the research Ms. Angelique Jenney, all representatives of institutions involved in research as well as other participants in the overall project. The Institution of Ombudsman for Children was represented by the representative of office in Foča.

While presenting the draft report it was pointed that the research covers four countries in the region: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey and Serbia. The research is still ongoing, and the draft gave an indication of current situation in B&H or B&H's progress in terms of changing relations and legislation with the aim to address violence against children in B&H, in an appropriate manner.

The importance of the problem of identification of cases of violence against children was emphasized, exchange of information on these issues between all institutions working on the issue of preventing violence against children, as well as the importance of standardization in the education of participants. Also, the participants expressed their satisfaction that there has been a valuable opinions and information relevant to making a final report in order to protect children from all forms of violence.
