The Institution of Ombudsman for Children in cooperation with the Agency for Information Society of Republic of Srpska and professors from the University of Banja Luka, Doc. Dr. Tamara Pribišev Beleslin and Doc. Dr. Tatjana Tapavički Duronjić and with the support of m:tel have launched an initiative to establish a website ( ) about the benefits and risks of the Internet, dangers and protection of children. The site is primarily intended for children but also for parents and teachers.

Together with the creation of the web site a convenient guide for children, parents and teachers has been printed - Children on the Internet. The Web site and brochure are made with the intention of preventive and educational actions but also reacting in a situation where the problem is already created. By visiting primary schools "Vasilije Ostroški" in Trebinje and schools "Sveti Sava" and "Veselin Masleša" in Foča the educational workshops in this academic year are completed. The workshops lasted from May 16. to June 10. and were held in 18 schools, primary and secondary, in Republic of Srpska which were attended by over 600 students, a number of teaching personnel and professional associates.

The aim of the workshops was:

-education of children and adults about the benefits and risks of the Internet,

-identifying elements of e-violence and responding in these situations,

-responsible and ethical use of the Internet.

The Ombudsman for Children will summarize reactions of children, their experiences with the Internet and proposals of measures and activities in a Special Report.
