Today in Sarajevo, a five-day training of journalism students from Banja Luka, Sarajevo, Mostar, Tuzla and Pale began. Nada Grahovac LLM, the Ombudsman for Children of RS was the lecturer on the topic: What rights does each child have? Convention on the Rights of the Child and how much is respected!
UNICEF in collaboration with the technical partner, the Association of Media Initiatives from Sarajevo, for the last few years have been working on educating the media and journalists in order to raise the quality of information on issues of social protection of children. Practical training is intended for students of journalism and aims to develop participants' sense of the topic of children's rights and provide practical knowledge of how journalists cover these topics. This should enable the students to develop a sense of importance of the topic of children's rights, but also to contribute to the establishment of collegiate professional and friendly relations among students.
The students showed interest in all matters relating to children's needs on their path of development and growing up, and were particularly interested in the practices with which the Institution of Ombudsman for Children faces.
